I grew up wearing very traditional hiking boots: leather-lined monstrosities with a stitched sole, and whilst I enjoyed their sturdiness and support I never ever managed to break any in, even through years of use.
My outdoor life changed immeasurably for the better when I invested in a pair of Asolos. Not only do these boots provide the necessary support for a two-week foray into a wilderness area, but they also envelop and cradle your feet in a way that I'd never thought possible from a leather boot.
In the last years of ownership these boots have travelled with me all over North America and Europe -- seeing me through lengthy trips in glacier and weekends on the Appalachian Trail. They came with me to the Giant's Causeway, along Hadrian's wall, though the Highlands, and through the Swiss Alps. I have never, ever had a blister using these boots.
I can't recommend Asolo's boots enough.
